Practice
With many years of experience in this healing profession, I understand each and every individual, couple and family are different and come with unique concerns and resiliencies. My intent is, in a supportive environment, to tailor my psychotherapy work with you according to what you bring to our meeting as the current stressor. The guiding therories and practices in human behavior in my work include cognitive/behavioral, psycho dynamic and family systems approaches. I am an expert in Play Therapy for all ages and have completed my training in EMDR, the Adaptive Information Processing Modality to treatment.
The aim is for us to work together to identify the true contributing factors to your presenting problem and ways to alleviate these. I try to assist the child, adolescent, adult, couple or family in embracing their strengths and doing the hard work of overcoming by collaborating on creative techniques, interventions and exercises as a team. All along I hold the banner of optimism for hope, positive change and healing knowing you will carry it in that direction as well. Although therapy can take some work, we will work together with creativity and a good dose of humor.

I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and a registered play therapist-supervisor (RPT-S) with a clinical psychotherapy practice located in Reston, Virginia. I completed my studies at the University of Maryland and the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Social Work. I have been practicing clinical social work for over 20 years and play therapy for over ten years in my work with children, adolescents, couples and families. I have experience in clinical work with these populations in the school setting, outpatient community mental health, substance abuse treatment, and as a mental health evaluator for a local community services board.
